There are recipes that call for washing soda, and the ingredients in Oxi-clean are peroxide, and washing soda. However I chose to include baking soda instead because it is not as harsh. Washing soda is more alkaline, with a pH of 11, and Baking soda has a pH of 8, near neutral.
You can use washing soda for tougher stains as long as the clothes are not delicate.

		<description>I was curious about the baking soda...are you sure that the recipe is not supposed to be Washing soda?!  Washing soda is what I have found in most of the Oxi-clean recipes I have found.</description>
